The Fox and the Crow
One day a crow stood on a branch near his nest and felt very happy with the meat in his mouth. A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree. ‘That’s for me， as I am a Fox，’ said Master Reynard， and he walked up to the foot of the tree. ‘Good-day，Mistress Crow，’ he cried. ‘How well you are looking to-day： how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds， just as your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds.’ The Crow lifted up her head and began to caw her best， but the moment she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground， only to be snapped up by Master Fox. ‘That will do，’ said he. ‘That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future .’

There was a poor man in the state of Qi who made his living as a beggar in town.
After some time the people in the town began to dislike him, and gradually refused to give food to him.
There was nothing he could do but go to work in farmers' horse post with a farrier(兽医，马医). He put up with a living in the suburbs. Then the people in town laughed at him, saying, "You work with a farrier, and end eat the leftover(吃剩的饭菜). Don't you fellhumiliated?"
The poor man replied, "There is nothing more humiliating than being a beggar. I could even put up with mendicancy(乞讨), so it is nothing for me to work with a farrier."
齐国有一个穷人，靠在城里各家乞讨生活。
时间长了，城里人开始讨厌他，渐渐地都不给他饭吃。
