英法形近词对比：法语opportunité 和英语opportunity

Opportunité 

Malgré l'opposition des puristes, l'emploi d'opportunité se répand de plus en plus dans le sens de “occasion favorable”, sous l'influence d l'anglais. 

Opportunité？学过英语的童鞋们会马上联想到“opportunity”(机会)= “occasion favorable”。 
尽管这种用法是受英语的影响，受到坚持“纯正法语”人士的反对，但在法语中还是用得越来越多了，如： 

Coût d'opportunité, opportunity cost,“机会成本” 

La France doit saisir les opportunités du développement en Chine. 
France should seize the opportunity of development in China. 
法国应该抓住中国发展的机会。 

那么，opportunité 的本意是什么呢？ 

Opportunité, opportuneness, is linked to opportun, whether something is a good idea or not at a given time. 

实际上，opportunité 是从形容词 opportun 来的（英文是opportune）, 应该翻译成英语的 opportuneness：适时，合时宜. 即做某事的时机（时间）是否适宜。（Timeliness, appropriateness）. 

例如： 
Je mets sérieusement en doute l'opportunité d'une telle démarche. 
I very much question the opportuneness/timeliness/appropriateness of such a step. 
我质疑这样做的时机（是否合适）。 

Avant de prendre cette décision, il faut juger de son opportunité. 
Before making this decision, we must evaluate its appropriateness. We must decide if it is the right thing to do now. 
做决定之前，要先确定这样做是否合时宜。 

英语的 opportunity 可以译为法语的 occasion 等, 当然, 用 opportunité 人家也懂啦. 如: 

I've been to Paris several times but I've never had the opportunity to visit the Louvre. 
J'ai été à Paris à plusieurs reprises mais je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de visiter le Louvre. 
我到过巴黎好几次，但一直没机会去参观卢浮宫。 

He left the village and went to London in search of new opportunities. 
Il quitta le village et se rendit à Londres à la recherche de nouvelles perspectives d'avenir. 
他离开村子，到伦敦去寻找新的机会。 

如何区别 opportunité 的两种意义呢？ 
如果有不定冠词，“une opportunité”, 或者是复数，“des opportunités”, 那肯定是“机会”的意思了。因为，作“时机，时宜”讲的opportunité 是不可数的。 

"Une opportunité inopportune" 是个什么机会呢? 
来得不是时候的机会: 比如,你刚吃的饱饱的, 这时候有朋友说要请你吃法国大餐! (^v^)
